Partner spotlight: Next Gen Plant Ltd
Xwatch Safety Solutions part of Hexagon Safety Solutions has strengthened its working relationship with Next Gen Plant Ltd., with the partnership continuing to gather pace since it first began in 2024.
Headquartered in Newcastle, Next Gen Plant has built a strong reputation across the North East and surrounding areas as an aftermarket specialist in GPS, tiltrotators and safety systems, including height and slew limiters and AI camera technology. As an authorised dealer and service partner for Xwatch, Safety Shield Global and Engcon UK Ltd, the business supports customers with both the supply and installation of systems and attachments for excavators across the heavy plant sector.
Since partnering with Xwatch, Next Gen has installed hundreds of systems, delivering consistent, high-quality work backed by manufacturer-trained engineers. Their focus on prompt service, tidy installs and precise calibration – within 20mm – ensures machines are ready for site without unnecessary downtime, helping customers maintain operational performance and avoid costly issues.
Recent installations include a new Hitachi Construction Machinery ZX350-7 for Potter Plant Hire, fitted with an XW5 height, slew and RCI full envelope system, complete with feather-touch proportional hydraulic control and a magenta limit beacon. The setup provides accurate monitoring and restriction while maintaining smooth operator control.
Alongside the Xwatch system, a D2 unit from PVS Data was installed to capture live machine data, supporting real-time decision-making and safer, more efficient fleet management.
In another job completed on a tight turnaround, Next Gen installed an XW4 system on a Komatsu Europe McHale Komatsu PC210 super long front for Blackwood Plant Hire Limited, ensuring the machine was ready for work ahead of deadline.
Robbie Harding Director, Next Gen Plant Ltd. said: “Since we started working with Xwatch in 2024, the demand has been consistent. The systems are straightforward to install, reliable on site and backed by a team that understands what our customers need. We’ve now fitted hundreds of kits, and it’s a partnership that continues to deliver.”
Dan Leaney, Xwatch Safety Solutions, added: “Next Gen has been a strong partner for us. They know the machines, they understand the importance of safety systems being installed properly, and they get the job done without fuss. The volume of installs speaks for itself, and it’s good to see that consistency across different types of equipment and customers.”
The ongoing work between Xwatch and Next Gen Plant Ltd. reflects a straightforward approach to machine safety, combining proven systems with experienced installation support to keep equipment working safely and reliably on site.
