In our latest catch-up, Andrew Gutherless Business Development Manager - Machine Control division, Ronin System Solutions, our South African distributor, shared a series of insights about Xwatch's presence and growth in South Africa.
"We currently have a unit on order that will be fitted onto an excavator shortly," said Andrew. "The John Deere initiative with Senwes is in the pipeline for October, but the unit we've ordered will be installed prior to that."
In the past few weeks, Andrew has been on the move with a demonstration unit of Xwatch, and the response has been excellent. "We've received a great deal of interest both from OEMs and end-users alike," he revealed. It's evident that Xwatch is making waves in the South African market, with industry players keen to explore its potential.
One interesting development was Andrew's presentation to Bell Head Office. "I recently had the opportunity to present Xwatch to Bell Head Office, and the response was extremely positive," he shared. "In fact, we have a follow-up meeting scheduled with them in the coming weeks." The prospects look promising, and Xwatch is inching closer to becoming a trusted solution for Bell's needs.
But it doesn't stop there. Andrew also mentioned that Doosan has introduced Xwatch to a few clients for their rigid dump trucks, demonstrating the versatility of the solution. Additionally, Teichmann Construction is considering Xwatch for their ADT (Articulated Dump Truck) fleet. The interest from these major players indicates that Xwatch is carving a niche for itself in the South African construction and heavy equipment industry.
Participation in the last two Bell golf days in Natal and Gauteng, where Xwatch was one of the main sponsors, proved to be a fruitful endeavour. "Xwatch received a lot of attention and inquiries during these events," Andrew stated. The positive response has led to a regional presentation opportunity with Bell Coastal and Bell Central, where Andrew will engage with their sales team at an upcoming meeting.
Both Xwatch and Ronin IMS are partners with Leica Geosystems, a premier provider of heavy construction solutions. Leica Geosystems' unified hardware platform and common software interface, in conjunction with the Leica MCP80 control unit and Leica MC1 software, creates a streamlined construction site experience. The cloud-based Leica ConX productivity platform further supports increased project efficiency.
The partnership between Leica Geosystems, Xwatch, and Ronin IMS will deliver a comprehensive system that seamlessly connects height control, slew control, and 2D and 3D safety machine control solutions for enhanced job site safety.
In conclusion, Xwatch Safety Solutions is making significant strides in South Africa, thanks to the dedication of our distributor, Andrew Gutherless, and the increasing interest from major industry players. We are excited to see Xwatch continue to enhance safety and productivity in the heavy equipment sector across the region.
